French Polish touch up by veteran
Luthier Ernie King, Celtic College, Goderich, Ontario

Full size standup bass - no
problem. Solid as a rock, safe as a baby in her mother's arms.

Leather straps with velcro securely hold instrument necks of all
sizes.

All surfaces that come into
contact with the instruments are upholstered with leather.
As Ernie King explains... setting
bridges and fingerboard levelling are a snap with the StringTech.
When the instrument is held
on it's edge, access to the top and back simultaneously make electronic
work, edge dressing frets or stringing Strats and Teles a breeze!
The auxiliary platform clips
onto the upper neck platform in seconds.... This comes in handy
for acoustic pickup installs or any operation where the instrument
needs to be held in a vertical position.

- A
system for instruments to be held firmly and securely, allowing
the operator use of both hands for repair or manufacturing
procedures.
- Hundreds
of combinations of restraint available in seconds with quick,
one-handed adjustment.
- A
means by which instruments can be suspended by the neck or
the body, in multiple combinations, allowing complete accessibility.
- StringTech's
pivoting tele-scopic neck support offer's support for repairs such
as replacing frets or planing fingerboards, where the flex
of the neck must be restricted. It accomodates various neck
lengths, from Mandolin to Electric Bass.
- Padded
support rails, strategically placed to support the body at
the waist and upper and lower bouts of the instrument. Rail
positions accomodate large and small bodies, from a violin
to a jumbo guitar. The void between the rails allows for support
for round back, arched back and irregular shaped instruments.
- Leather
straps to secure instruments firmly against the padded rails
of the body platform assembly and to hold the neck firmly
against the pivoting neck support. This system resists the
various forces exerted during repair and manufacturing. The
straps attach to flanged metal strap buttons strategically
placed to allow for various combinations of restraint.
- A
means to raise the instruments up off the bench, away from
potential damage from
foreign materials, sharp objects or tools.
- Optional
extended body rails are available for instruments such as
Double Bass or Cello.

A full size bass can
be held face down with strings and bridge intact.
Even a banjo partial
refret and fret dress become routine work without neck
removal or disassembly. |
